An unholy noise reverberated from a dilapidated, tin-roofed shack painted glow-in-the-dark green on the corner of 49th and Cedar streets in Savannah’s Parkside neighborhood.
“That’s Esmeralda,” said Billy Gartside affectionately of the 9-foot-tall animatronic equipped with PA system, part of his personal collection that fills the house of horrors.
